Magni (5/29/2008) I was in Akureyri when it hit - going home in the morning to see the damages - my boys went to my house and it´s a bloody mess, glass everywhere.
But it´s only stuff - My guitars are ok so although my cd collection is partly toast and all my gold albums are broken on the floor - nobody got hurt.
Although we were pretty sure you were OK because there were no casualties, thanks for letting us know, Magni! Good that you were out of the way when it happened, stuff can be replaced...people can't! Stay safe, hopefully there won't be any major aftershocks.

Whoa! I've been gone on vacation and what do I find happened while I've been gone? Scary stuff. I'm so glad you all are okay!! Thanks for checking in, everyone.
Magni, I'm so sorry about the damage , but I'm happy to hear you were far away; hence no damage to you. Keep safe, everyone!

| There's been minor aftershocks all night long
and ofcourse people are in shock. On this area are 5 small towns, Selfoss, Hveragerði, Eyrarbakki, Hvolsvöllur and Þorlákshöfn. And it shows how well our houses are build that only 28 people were injured, and all minor. There's not known, at this point, how many houses are ruined or major damaged but a few are, and most of them, if not all, were built early 1900.
Spreading the Magni love

| OMG! Thank goodness there were no major injuries. What a frightening experience, especially not knowing if everyone is ok until you hear from your family and friends.

It's good to hear you are alright. And you have the right perspective on it, things can be replaced as long as everyone is ok. All our friends in Iceland, stay safe! The picture of the bridge along shows the strengh of that quake!

| I am so sorry to hear this news! I just returned tonight from New Orleans, where I was attending a conference. I am so glad that you are all okay. Or, have we heard from everyone yet?
