Well, just found out that I will not be able to go to the concert on Saturday at 19:00 as I planned :( But, I am going to be the first in line for the concert with Magni and the houseband :D Wow, I am looking forward to that! Have fun everybody at the concerts this weekend! :D Does anybody know when the concert will be in December?

see your point, but after all this site is for MAGNI not ÁMS or other worthy groups.

I may be a bit grumpy tonight but blame it on the "no-tickets",

really wanted to see the performance by Magni and Dilana. And it´s xxxx that the tickets are on sale (and sold out) in the middle of the working day!

Please don't take my strong point as any accusation on your behalf, I was only trying to make a point of the situation as it is for Icelandic musicians.

The phenonemon, "Sveitaball", is as you and most other Icelanders know pretty much the only venue a band gets to play music in Iceland. It is a specific Icelandic cultural creature, and in a way contradicting itself as the bands do often have to play covers (75% or so) and are playing for over-toxicated audience. As far as for their original music, they are tied down in the constricted frame of mainstream radio-friendly music...... if they want their music played at all.

Those of us that are old enough to remember the 90's in Icelandic music life have seen great performances on stage from bands like Todmobile, Jet Black Joe and others that were bursting of pure talent.

That is fortunally still the case.... our classic "Sveitaballa-bönd" have that in themselves.

I believe that ÁMS will only welcome the opportunity to play something else than "365-approved" mainstream in the future. To be able to make music from their heart and soul... not have to plan it from the first note in order to get it played on radio.

you misinterpret my words.

For my personal experience; have been to some of Magni´s and ÁMS "böll". Nothing outstanding there, we have groups that entertain and play for dancing as well as they do/did.

I´m simply saying that Magni has a talent (both singing and instrumental playing) that has been polished and had the chance to "shine" independant of ÁMS.

There are many (even from the opera) that love Magni´s talents but never before did realize how good he really is.

Now I will have to comment on this. I KNOW that the members of ÁMS are very good musicians..... each and everyone of them! They can easily make a GREAT show in a venue like Laugardalshöll or even Egilshöll.... the problem is only if there's equipment available for it in a short notice. The Welcome Home party was "a spontanious event" with a very short notice. They band only practiced these songs a few times before they performed them.

I KNOW that they are a band in World Class!

after all...did all of us (Icelanders) REALY believe Magni would come to "concour the world" when RS:SN started this summer?

The sold out shows just confirmed it. Due to the small venue, they had to add two more shows to accomodate everyone.

So, by December, so that no one would be disappointed, venue should be either Laugardalshöll or Egilshöll :D

The Friday night concert is sold out too, according to Broadway's site !!:w00t:

And there will be another extra early Saturday night 19:30 - 21:00 :D:D

I just have to hope that won't be sold out too when I finaly finish working but there is no way I can go now :crazy:

The concert on friday (20:00-22:00) sold out in within one hour... madness... they´ve added one more concert on saturday afternoon (19:30-21:00)... And then It's time for a MAJOR PARTY on saturday night!!!:w00t:

Magni :) ... it's no surprise that the show on Saturday sold out in just two hours. It's great that there's another show on Friday. It just shows how many people love you.

But be sure though that by December when you invite Storm, Dilana, Toby and the Houseband over... make sure the venue will be Laugardalshöll or better yet, just to make sure not one single fan will be disappointed, book Egilshöll :D

Magni, you have to realize that now that you're king of Iceland, you will sell out any venue a [i]lot [/i]quicker. ;)

I wish I was going to Iceland... *sniffle* Maybe I'll get a canoe ready and start out from the west coast here, though I guess it might be a little late in the year to make it all the way around northern Canada to Iceland. :hehe:

I'm so excited for everyone over there who will be able to see Magni in concert! Magnificento, I've been following to see if you were able to find tickets and I'm so happy you did. Nocturne, it's great you had a couple of extra!

Magni is so loved, it's great they are needing to add another concert. Those of us stuck in the US and other countries will look forward to hearing all about it :).

...Let´s just say that we didn´t see this coming - we never expected this much demand for tickets so we added another concert on the friday night at 20:00 - there is also a show on the saturday at 15:00 that´s open for all ages and tickets on those shows are available right now on Broadway... As for the saturday night show - that´s very sold out - thanks for that :)

I feel horrible...I called Broadway..and they are sold out...also the afternoon show...I had a feeling this would happen..everybody is trying to go..I am sad...:( Can it be possilbe to video this concert?...PLEASE!!!. or..if anybody finds out, where there is 2 tickets or at least 1 for sale..please please please send me an email..it is on my profile..Thank you again Rave for trying..I hope now that Magni and Dilana will do us the biggest favor in the world and have another concert..that would be a great 2nd chance.....I am going to pout now for 2 weeks....
