Hello sweetheart! I'm not sure that with all the people that you've seen since you left that you'll remember me, but I'll always remember you! I was the woman who's guitar you signed and had all the rest of our mutual friends from the show sign along with you (Sasha, Jimmy, Nate, Toby, D). I was just talking with Ryan the other day about you...we both miss you! Even though you're so far away (and CBS security wouldn't let much talking go on during the tapings) I hope that you know that you have made a friend (in me) that will be there for you and your family...Take care sweetie and I had so been looking forward to you coming back for the tour...I hope to hear from you sometime soon! I agree with everyone else, but they have done such a better job of writing, or have said exactly what I feel.

You have such a beautiful voice. When I heard you sing "My Generation", I was hooked. You just got better and better. Each performance was incredible and you were the only reason I watched the show. I was excited to see you each week.

Like many, one of my favorites was Dolphin's Cry. I got goosebumps. That song put you in a whole other league above anyone else. But I don't know which song was my favorite: Dolphin's Cry or Fire or Hush or Smells Like Team Spirit or Plush or When The Time Comes or Creep. And for the record, when you sang Creep, EVERYONE knew you "didn't belong there" in the bottom 3.

I'm very picky about the music I listen to. I like old rock and roll and a little new stuff, and I really feel that your voice is among the greatest.

Thank you for bringing music back to me.

We loved seeing your beautiful family on the show and wish Marino a belated Happy First birthday. Our faith in people who can ROCK OUT but still seem so normal off stage has been restored this year by yourself and I hope you don't mind if I mention AI Idol 4th place winner Chris Daughtry. Magni (a.k.a. The True Rock Star!),

I want to add one point to my previous letter. The only reason you were EVER in the bottom 3 was because your fans thought you were completely safe, so we didn't vote as hard. (Please forgive us!) Your performances both times were fantastic, and were so well-received on the Rock Star: Supernova web site forum that many, many of us simply did not believe that you would ever land in the bottom 3. However, when you hit the bottom 3 for two consecutive weeks, we'd had enough of that nonsense! There was no excuse, we would NOT let it happen again, so we voted longer and harder than ever before, bringing you to the #1 spot, where you should have been all along!

As for your being in the bottom 2 for the finale...well, I just don't believe it, so there's no use in discussing it! ;) We never stopped voting for you, and believe me, it was a 4-hour marathon of voting for most of your fans.

In the end, it's all good. You will be a big, BIG star, regardless. We are all here to witness it, and we can't wait.

Anyway dude, I think you're an awesome performer and, you got a great voice, and most of all I love sarcasm, people have been calling me sarcastic for years, and I know the feeling of being sarcastic, and someone doesn't get it, let's just say that it's a pretty awkward situation to be here.

Anyway today is Rosh Hashana(Jewish new year) so we all say here today Shana Tova(Happy new year), to you and all your family, me you have a great and sweet year, and have things go your way etc... (I could go on, but hell I'm a lazy bastard).

Although I am from Houston, Texas and a big fan of Dee's...I was one of those that had truly hoped for RnR's sake the battle would have been between you and Dee. After the haze of disappointment, I soon realized that both of you will do far better in your solo careers.

In addition to being a fantastic artist (and with what CBS let us see (;)) you seem to be a wonderful husband, proud father, a true friend in time of need and a man of great character! It is rare to see someone in your position hold true to himself, his family and his career with integrity...sounds like Iceland is a place of harmony and good RnR.

I know that Dee loves you as a brother and if you ever get back to the States, I hope Houston will be one of your venues...I would love to see the Magni-Ficient in concert!

I just want you to know I was "hooked" to you and your voice and singing style from day one, which for me was when you sang Clocks!!! You had the best voice of the bunch and I love your intense, yet mellow style-THAT screams "Rockstar" to me.

Yes, it's official, this 61 year old woman from Missouri has become a groupie again!!! Now before you say who cares, I just want you to know that I was a groupie of some of the best: Hendrix, Joplin, LZ, The Doors, Jefferson Airplane, The Grateful Dead, and many many more. I had backstage passes to most of their shows, so when I say I know music, you better believe I know music.

Magni, you are the real thing. I for one am happy you didn't win the SN gig, because it wasn't you. You have true talent, but more importantly, you are grounded. The one thing I learned in the music world of rock, you have to be grounded or you will burn up. You will have longivity because of this, and you will only get better and better, much like Eric Clapton.

I just want you to know how much your music has meant to me, and how happy I am for SN so that I got to be introduced to your music. Sending much love to you and yours.

Now please do something about coming to Missouri some day. It's really hard for me to travel.

Dearest Magni,

How special you are...and yet because you don't realize it, that makes you even MORE special. There is a humble part of you that totally melts me...and has drawn me to watching the Rockstar show all summer. I am WAAAAYYY beyond being a groupie of a rockstar...as a matter of fact I never WROTE to one before until now.

As all the others here have said you are an amazing talent. You have the "right stuff." You have the right way of interpreting a song and when I watched the close-ups of you on the TV, I was able to see the song in your eyes. You have a lot of expression in your eyes and I was not happy with the guy liner for some of the performances because it was harder to actually see your eyes then. I loved all your performances and one of them in particular, Starman, was my favorite. I know it was not everyone's most popular pick, but your voice just "said it all" to me.

Your devotion and love of your family will always be your anchor AND your wings. It is the reciprocal love that you and your wife have for each other that will allow you to soar to your fullest potential. And what better gift can you give to your child than to follow your dream and be fullfilled in life? He knows you would never leave him, believe me. You are who you are because of them!

Thanks for sharing your talent with us "newbies" here in the US. I totally know what you mean by Europeans and Americans differing in outlooks, etc. You are an "old soul" - and those of us in the US who have found ourselves growing up here, but feel they belong elsewhere understand this difference. Believe me, I love my country. But we are teenagers, like you said...we live in the "now." I have been to your country and it calls me back over and over. I absolutely feel at home there...and actually when I go into shops and things, the shop owners always speak Icelandic to me until I let them know I am an American. They have told me that I don't "appear" American. I am always very flattered to be mistaken for a native :)!

Take good care of yourself, rest, get reaquainted with your family, and then come back to the rest of the world with your music. You will leave a hole in our hearts if you don't.

Just have to say that you rocked my world this summer. You surprised me, and in turn, made me surprise myself - I love music, I love rock, and I haven't responded to a new voice, a new singer, so intensely in such a long time. Your voice drilled down to the core of my heart and soul. I don't vote much on these kind of shows, if I vote at all, but when the call came out, I voted my wrist off for you. Your playing was fabulous as well, and your chemistry with the House Band was hot, HOT, heat, but first and foremost it is your wonderful voice that goes both smooth and crunchy - I'd love to hear it more in English with some new songs.

I also love that, in addition to Metallica, you are a U2 and Pearl Jam fanboy (saw the Eddie/Bono photo from Toronto, don't know what you said, but I could feel the squeeing ;) ), loved all the covers of them that I have heard from you - I am a U2 (HUGE) and Pearl Jam fangirl, so I kinda feel like a kindred spirit in that way.

Anyway, I am very much looking forward to seeing you perform again at the concert in New York City on January 31, I hope you will be singing in addition to playing, yours is a voice that must be heard, and I hope it won't be the last time I hear it. You may not have won Rockstar, but you won a whole lot of fans in the US.

PS: If you do decide to relocate, listen to Ryan and move to NYC, it's not like anywhere else in the US, there's a place and community for everyone, and you'll fit right in. :)

The others were great personally, but as far as music talent you are THE BOMB!:) Your composure, class and style came through every time. Loved your comebacks to Dave and Tommy! By the way, Tommy is not a big time celebrity in America as you may think. He had a lot of fame back in the big hair band 80's days, but definitely not now. Loved your voice and stage presence from the first time I saw you on Rockstar: Supernova. I think you are amazing and thank you for entering that. You have a new fan here. :) From what I saw, you seemed to be the only one that really connected on all levels with the house band. Amazing. Hi Magni.

As so many people here have experienced this is my first time writing a fan letter, signing into forums and so on and so on.

But I was just mesmerized by your voice and how you presented your self on stage and off and I just couldn't help my self and had to join in with the other Magniacs.

As you decriped so well in 6 til 7 just now, you are experiencing a struggle between Magni the family man and Magni the musician, and that's quite understandable.

But think of it this way - Magni the familyman = Touring around Iceland, playing on some "sveitaböllum" Friday and Saturday, playing on some bars on Thursday nights and working full time somewhere else during all day's. There isn't a lot of time left with the family. :crying:

Magni the musician = recording and touring maybe 6 month's a year, with computer, webcamera, mobile and being able to contact your family when ever you want. And being home in charge of your time for the other 6 months :D

I believe those two Magni's can work great together.

Ofcourse I'm simplifying this a little, maybe a lot, but don't you think it will be eating you inside if you don't give it a change ?

This is the way I see it:

Magni: He can actually sing - and sing different styles:gravel voiced, clear, melodic, haunting, bright; he is a team player and not out solely for himself - more of a mediator than an instigator; His looks and style can easily blend with SN because he looks like NONE of them yet he looks fresh and edgy; he has a comfort on stage where theatrics are not necessary and he knows how to get an audience to feel whatever song he is singing. And maybe it is my stage in life but he is a family man who loves deeply his wife and son and is strong enough to show it. That nailed it for me. He is not only the most talented/sexiest guy up there, but he is the most deserving of being a Star. Whether SN is enough of a superior band to have him front them is the question, not the other way around. I will follow Magni wherever he goes but not SN if he is not fronting them.

You know, Pray... I think you hit the spot with that one. Magni seems to the most talented of the bunch by far. My second favorite is Storm. She's an edgy lady with talent to spare. I see a lot of similarities between her and Magni. Both of them are nice and helpful (just look at what Storm did for Dana). Magni seems to be sort of the peace keeper of the house. I really liked how he settled the debate with the original songs on the last reality show. It was logic! Pure and simple! I will bet my shirt that when he gets booted off the show, the rest of the misfits in that house will be clawing each other's eyes out within 6 minutes of getting back to the mansion. Storm is sort of the same way. She takes the song no one wants or the one that no one can sing. She's also tried to keep the peace but it seems that people have an easier time pi$$ing her off then they do pi$$ing Magni off. Which in some ways is understandable. Hey, she's a redhead. We redheads have fiery tempers. Don't pi$$ us off! *lol*
You know, now that I mentioned it, I've never seen Magni so much as raise his voice in anger during this whole thing. Sure, he was annoyed at Jill during the group lyrics writing clinic (understandable!), but so far, I think that's the most pi$$ed off I've ever seen him on the show. Huh! *ponders*

I am a fan of Magni because obviously musically he is very gifted. His vocal range and experience are so varied, from ballads to metal, (loved Plush by STP), and I do believe along with others that I've read that there is more that Magni can bring to the table, and we may not have even seen his best performance yet. Personally, I have a lot of respect for him because he is a devoted family man, is humble, a gentleman, and genuine and seems like he would be very relatable and an asset to SN. But, if he didn't win, I'd start buying his solo CDs right away anyway. I can't say that about the other performers.

I LOVE Magni because he's got the best voice and he can sing anything. His voice is so versatile and he always makes me believe in the mood of the song. If it's a sad song then I get sad and cry but if it's a rocking song then I want to shout and rock out with him like in Hendrix' "Fire". I also respect Magni for his song writing abilities (which he has shown here in Iceland) and he can play both guitar and piano very well. Magni is also in my opinion the coolest guy in the mansion, he's always helping other people and is just himself. Not in it for the fame but true love of music.

Thank you for your professionalism and your gift of musical talent. I enjoyed every single performance of yours and not once did you ever "bore" me. You stayed true to who you were and never compromised. You showed us your sense of humor with your quick witted comebacks, and made me laugh many times. You showed how selfless you were by constantly helping your housemates, and they, too, seemed to have your respect and admiration. You constantly gave 100 percent and did so with enormous passion. The chemistry between you and the houseband can't be measured - and to look as if you are "part of the band" is a great compliment - because teamwork is what makes a winning team. You gave me faith in rock and roll again and I thank you for that.

Although I am happy that Lukas won, I absolutely loved Magni and wasn't happy with him being axed first tonight. He has so much talent and a beautiful voice. It was so obvious to me that SN wasn't feelin his vibe. I was very surprised how openly they expressed their feelings - both verbal and non-verbal. It was embarrassing to watch and I felt for Magni. Honestly, I think he will do better off solo. He doesn't need that kind of band behind his beautiful voice (I mean that as a compliment). My husband thought Magni should win (but he could never get his name right, called him "Magnus"). So I made up this phrase - Magnus the fablus - (short for fabulous) May Magnus the Fablus have a great solo career! I'll be first in line to purchase his material. (he had me when he song "When Dolphins Cry")

Yep - Magni is the best singer out of all of them. I voted for him (and Dilana) all the way through. I'm glad that he's already a success in Iceland and Europe but I'm even more glad that he'll be playing in the States for a while. He needs some US success too! In looking back over all the webisodes and shows and blah blah blah, Magni was - without a doubt - the class act on this crazy show. No crappy, trashy, mean-spirited behavior from him, no whining, no 'tude, no ****. Gotta love that.

I also voted for Magni the entire time. I felt like a kid because I sat on the pc for hours it seemed like voting over and over again. Magni is my favorite one and Toby next. Magni can sing! He is the only person that I have heard sing Stone Temple Pilots great. STP is my favorite and Magni is the only one that can come close to Scott (STP). Magni has a sparkle in his eyes like my husband. That melts my heart. I really pray that Magni will give his fans a CD and try to make it in the music business in the US.

I missed the two first shows on TV, and then my husband told me about the show. I really wasn't into watching another reality TV show, but when I did watch, it was Magni that caught my attention, and I continued to watch and vote for Magni every week. I am saddened that he did not get this gig (only cause he wanted it), but I do look forward to hearing his music, and following his career in music. God Bless Magni and his family, and his career!! Magni you have been the only reason for me to watch the show and I honestly have to say that I'm glad you weren't chosen to front SN because I think you are far too talented to be their lead vocalist. You WILL have no trouble having a solo career in the North American market. I'm glad that you got to use the show as a medium to showcase your gift. I agree with all the comments so far, but especially from Sheesha(message #8). I voted for Magni because I wanted to see his performances, which I thought got more and more amazing, not necessarily so he should front Supernova! He had me with the Dolphin's Cry song too, but even before that, he caught my attention with The Who's, My Generation. That's when I got to be a MAGNIAC! It just kept getting better. I too was embarrassed by Supernova's reaction and responses...or should I say, lack of reaction and responses to Magni's great and classy performances. It seemed ironic that Gilby Clark criticized so much about performance when he seemed to lack much of it himself! The House Band seemed to have more stage presence, personality, and talent. Anyway, Magni is in a league of his own compared to Supernova, in my opinion, and this show was a great way to MAGNIFY himself worldwide!! Can't wait to see you on tour, Magni! I supported Lukas, and am happy he won...however, Magni was the truest "Rocker". I believe Lukas was the best Performer/Artist on the stage, and definately best fit for the band and it's marketing format, but Magni is such an amazing class act. I ALWAYS threw Magni a vote, because I truly wished he finished second so he could stay with the house band.

Magni was the only person I voted for every week. I occasionally would vote for others who performed well, but there wasn't once "off" week for Magni. I love him, his talent, his humanity, his sense of humor, his devotion to his family. The only reason I wanted Magni to win was so that we would no longer be deprived of him. Iceland is fortunate, but the world now wants what it has been missing: Magni! Please create a cd for all of us that are devoted to you.

Thank you so much for all of the incredible and consistently excellent performances. Your version of "The Dolphin's Cry" was, for me, the single best performance in both seasons of Rock Star, and I hope you know that it was the one song that was MOST mentioned by ALL of the show's fans on this forum as being in their top 10 performances. (And many, many people voted for it as their #1 favorite.) I also loved "Smells Like Teen Spirit" and feel that you rocked it harder than anyone else on the show all season with that one. Last but not least, "I Alone" made me cry, I was so into it!
I wish you all of the very best in life, personally (with your beautiful wife and adorable son--he is cute beyond words) and professionally (can't wait to buy your CDs). In the end, I'm glad that you don't have to sing that "ho-ho-ho" song for Supernova (not to mention that "Leave the Lights On" thing!). I've always thought you were far too talented for this particular band, even though I voted for you for the full 4 hours on each performance night--because I wanted to support you all the way in whatever you chose to do.

You rocked our world for several weeks and for that we thank you. I keep reading things about rock dying but with someone like you, it certainly has a long way to go. It was so nice to see real talent and not get caught up in the superficial draw of some of the others. You have an amazing voice and I hope you can continue to share that with the U.S. When Jason tires of this group, I hope you and he make a cd together that is if you are not already too big for by the time that happens.
I wish I knew for sure if you are touring with the house band because frankly I don't want to see Supernova, I just want to see you. I know you care for your little brother Lukas but I just can't stand to listen to him anymore. I would drive a long distance which I will have to do to see this band but it will be worth it if I know I can see you.
Anyway, I wish you and your family a great future. I hope it includes a major hit cd and tour in the U.S. preferably in New York.

Magni amazes me. I will really miss watching him perform on Tuesdays, but I'm also grateful that it's over and he's finally free to do his own thing! There's no longer a cushy cage restraining him and his friends.

Magni, I took Gilby's comment about you seeming more a part of the band than the frontman as a compliment and I took it that you did too even if he didn't necessarily mean it to be. You and the house band had real chemistry and I watched the show to see you and the house band. That chemistry is something that the "band" almost known as Supernova will never have, not because of Lukas either because it just isn't there between the other 3 to begin with. I have a feeling as soon as he can bail on that train wreck Jason is going to be looking you up, you two had that chenmistry as well. I think you two could do some really great stuff together and I think he does too.

Could TL´s comments to Magni be to get us to vote for Magni or is he honestly telling the truth with his comments?
Have you guys noticed that every single person that has written and performed their own song is now gone and the song is usually much better than the SN songs we have heard? Is Magni´s song too good for them, is he too talented, will he out stage them or do they just not like him?
If TL is annoyed with Magni´s answer last week why do they (producers of the show) encourage them to talk back, to answer the "judges" if they do not agree with what they are saying? To stand up for what they believe?
Maybe its just me but even though Toby´s song is the catchy one of the four its also the song that after listening to for a couple of weeks you would get irritated with, get tired of... Dilana´s song, well I can´t remember anything but the words super soul and thank you... and Lukas´s song I just don´t like, its boring I think (just my opinion) Magni´s song is the one (once again, just my opinion) that will be heard the longest on the radio, its not something you get bored with.
Magni is obviously the strongest one every time!
He is the one that helps the others prepare, putting his own on hold...

Grettings from Western Illinois. I'm 51 and I have to tell you that I have totally enjoyed your music and am anxiously awaiting more from you. I voted like mad for you to keep you on until the finale but the whole time hoping you WOULDN'T win because you weren't the right man for SN. I have to agree Lukas is the right man for that gig but that doesn't mean I think he was the best rocker by any means. You are so much better than SN and your style is more classic rock, more for those of us who appreciate rock MUSIC not theatrics. Never was a Crue fan and while I liked GnR's first album tired of them quickly. I still listen to Metallica though and Zeppelin will always be my favorite. A lot of people have posted that you should do Zeppelin's Immigrant Song, I'd like to hear that myself.

Don't know if anyone is keeping you up to date on what your fans are posting on your "My Spaces" blogs or on the Rockstar message boards but you have many, many fans that saw a definite chemistry between you, the house band and Jason and are hoping some sort of collaboration comes out of it. I haven't been this excited about a rock musician in many years so keep it coming.

Rock Star: Supernova finds itself in the final week of the Mark Burnett

Productions' search for a lead singer to front the Tommy Lee project. The reality show has four out of the fifteen contestants vying for the top spot. House Band, a supernova caliber talent themselves, is scheduled to open for them, with the possibly of multiple performers from the show in featured sets.

This has not been confirmed, but could be an excellent idea. It would multiply the number of fans interested in purchasing tickets and provide a way for viewers to see their favorites perform even if they are not 'the chosen one'. MBP is more than likely considering this move; look at the success this format has had for the American Idol franchise. Dave Navarro's band, Panic Channel, will be included on this tour, providing a full rock music revue.

The remaining contestants are four different artists with diverse stylings. The band members of Supernova will select the singer they consider the best fit to represent the type of sound they are creating. Naturally, marketability of the winner will be a big factor. The choice of singer in this show will come down to which direction this motley bunch — put together by Motley Crue's Tommy Lee -- has chosen to ride into.

It's necessary and part of the plot of this rock tale to revisit some of the members of Supernova's past credentials. Tommy Lee and Nikki Sixx developed Motley Crue with Mick Mars and Vince Neil and they created history with their development of a new genre of rock, dubbed 'hair metal' with an emphasis on arena anthems, theater, glamor, and notoriety. This band has sold 40 million records, and to their credit, all are still alive and performing. Motley Crue experienced the effect the lead singer has on a band, and this gives Tommy Lee real-world experience to add to his decisions in determining the right sound for Supernova.

Jason Newsted of Metallica joined the band after the passing of bassist Cliff Burton, and proved himself a talented bassist. Gilby Clark served as a replacement guitarist with Guns N' Roses following Axl Rose's parting with the original band members after a feud.

"The Immigrant Song" from Led Zepplin III ran through my mind as I reviewed past performances of Magni. Magni comes from Iceland, and the lyrics, "We come from the land of the ice and snow, From the midnight sun where the hot springs blow", are a fitting theme for this man. (I love the song anyway.)

Nicknamed The Iceman, Magni has remained cool under pressure, composed in his dealings with everyone on the show. But beneath the cool exterior flows a river of molten fire. Magni began his journey on Rock Star tentatively, with a debut performance of the Rolling Stones' "Satisfaction". Since then, he has solidly and consistently upped the ante. Magni delivers charismatic, incredible vocals -- full and powerful. He retains tonality no matter the force of the vocals, never breaking note or screaming the lyrics. He can deliver softness one moment, and the next infuse his delivery with intensity and emotion that permeate the studio rafters.

Magni is a performer in the style of Bono of U2 and Robert Plant of Led Zeppelin. He's been criticized for his stage presence. He eschews trite glam rock antics, instead he prowls the stage, fluid personification of a powerful cat. He draws on the strength of his magnificent vocal prowess to engulf the audience. Magni has stayed true to himself and what he's about as an artist and musician through criticisms of his performances. He exudes an aura of knowing exactly who he is. He's not threatened by critiques to become anyone's puppet or dancing to anyone's organ grinder's box.

His amazing vocal abilities are highlighted in his performance of "I Alone", a song by Live. Magni's vocals swamped Ed Kowalczyk's, dampening the original song. Week 7 he gave a mesmerizing performance of "Creep" that took my breath away. Week 8, during the elimination performance, he came out fighting, guitar in hand and sparks flying during his performance of Jimi Hendrix's, "Fire". A killer performance, he effortlessly melded with the House band and created a massive online buzz.

In Magni there simmers greatness, and thanks to Mark Burnett, we've been introduced to a real rock star with talent similar to that of a man I've admired since the '80's from Ireland. Bono came on the music scene with a little band called U2 and has made history with his sound. Rock Star: Supernova has been an excellent venue to serve as an introduction to the incredible talent of Magni.

For Gilby Clark, Jason Newsted, and Tommy Lee, Supernova is a great opportunity for them to prove to the world they are able to do something successful artistically on their own, as opposed to riding the successes of their former bands. Supernova has potential to surpass being simply a reality show project and, instead, expand into becoming more than may have been originally conceived for this show. They may become one successful group comprised of members from other bands -- Velvet Revolver is a great example of rockers joining together to create something possibly more promising and greater than their previous bands.

It's also quite possible the band and person they choose will be based on the short term gain not long term goals. Choice of performer may very well be determined by media exposure and audience reaction, not what may be best in creating a full and real band. One thing Mr. Burnett and his staff has provided on Rock Star is an entertaining second season and some truly interesting and valid talents.

I am so truly facinated by you, that I have like a lot of people become obsessed :w00t:
beeing icelandic I thought I knew you, but you blew me away...there is something so unique about you it´s hard to descripe.
You make me so proud to be Icelandic, thank you !
The fact that you never tried be anything else than the true you in this world of fake looks, unsincerity and trying to fit in symbolized something for so many people and was a true gift.
I have never in my life written a fan letter..but in this case I had to..I could not stop myself...I really sincerely hope you get to read this.
I wish you so much luck and I do hope you wil let the whole world enjoy you along with your beautiful wife and Marinó.
